ESTABLISHMENT OF PUNJAB INSTITUTE OF NEURO SCIENCES PINS LAHORE


Department of Neurosurgery, Lahore General Hospital, Lahore is the largest neurological health care facility throughout the country. Ever since its establishment in 1966, it has been providing the best possible neurosurgical care to a huge number of routine and emergency patients Suffeting from trauma (Head & spinal injuries), brain tumors, strokes etc. ieiny the single public sector neurosurgical hospital for decades, it had the edge to grow at quite a rapid pace which resulted in a wider demand & supply Oapj A new building of Lahore General Hospital was commissioned in 1981 with the addition of a second unit in 1985 owing to the burgeoning patientinflux. It has been more than 30 years since the last expansion of ,neureisurgical services at Lahore General Hospital whereas the catchment Population of Lahore in particular and of the Punjab in general has almost tripled and the patient load has increased many folds.

Objectives:

  • This scheme will improve and enhance neurosurgery treatment for patients with state of the art facilities.
  • It will lead to the first ever research based clinical facility in neurological sciences in the country.
  • It will imbibe the highly skilled specialists in the field of neurosciences.
